Seated right on the shore of the Ushimado Bay, Café Rossa offers delicious Italian food with a pinch of Japanese flavour to it. With local veggies and freshly caught seafood from the area, Café Rossa is a great place to have a taste of what Ushimado has to offer while relaxing and admiring the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea. Why not try out the black squid-ink risotto? Or how about the peperoncino with some nori (edible seaweed) of Ushimado bay mixed with shiso leaves? Instead of attempting to imitate Italian restaurant and Italian dishes, Café Rossa has undoubtedly ‘revisited’ the whole concept of Italian food and created its own creative fusion between these two great culinary cultures. The portions are just the right amount and beautifully presented.

Lunch and Cafe: 11:00 to 17:00 (last order at 16:00)

Dinner: 18:00 to 21:00 (last order at 20:00)

Closed on Mondays. If the Monday is a public holiday, the restaurant will be open but will close the following day.

Access

By public transport:

Board the train on the Ako line from Okayama station and get off at Oku station (25 min, 320 yen). Spot the bus stop located in front of the station and hop on the bus heading to Ushimado (20 min). Get off at the ‘Ushimado Chu Gakko Mae’ stop. Walk 6 minutes to the restaurant.

Another option is to simply grab a taxi at Oku station (around 20 min and 2500 to 3000 yen)

By car :

53 minutes by car from Okayama station.
