When the tide lowers and the sea slowly parts, a sandbar emerges from the water creating a path that connects Kuroshima island to two other smaller islands, Nakanokojima and Hashinokojima, in the middle of the Ushimado bay.
Although this spot is particularly popular with couples due to its romantic atmosphere, it has a broader appeal to nature lovers and anyone seeking for a unique experience.
How to get there
Kuroshima Island can be accessed by sea kayaks, local boats or a sightseeing ship departing from Ushimado’s premier hotel: Limani Hotel. You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to hop onto their boat, however advanced booking is necessary. As low-tide only occurs once, maybe twice, during the day, it is advised to first have a look at the departure times here.
