Shiosai restaurant has everything an international traveler would be looking for in Japan: a very welcoming and warm staff, tasty Japanese dishes made with local and regional products, a restaurant built in a Meiji era (1868-1912) traditional home, some lip-licking Japanese desserts and so much more! Like many restaurants in the countryside, there is no English menu, but do not fret! The picture-menu makes the entire experience quite hassle-free. Also, if it happens to be a sunny and warm day, go and enjoy your lunch outside in the secluded garden. Before you go though, don’t forget to have a peak upstairs where they sell at a very low price a wide variety of Japanese items, from tea bowls to elegant chopsticks.
