This is the place to go if you want to go and eat local with the locals! Don’t be shy and strut right in! The inside is entirely decorated with a ‘pirate’ theme. The wooden structure, the round windows and the small ships on the shelves will almost make you believe that either you entered a bar in one of those pirate harbours or you are actually inside a ship. Even the owners blend right into the theme!

A small ‘pirate’ restaurant facing the sea, the food is simple, hearty, rustic, abundant and delicious. My personal recommendation: Ebimeshi! Okayama Prefecture is famous for this rice based dish mixed with various sauces and full of shrimps, prawns and sometimes even lobsters. But in this restaurant, the seafood is fresh and comes directly from the bay of Ushimado. This is also a great time to chat with some locals!
