Situated right in front of the blue waters of the Seto Inland Sea with a full view on some of its main islands, Base beach is a great place to kick back and relax with a bunch of friends while enjoying some delicious local food carefully prepared by its lovely staff. Combining both the cosiness of glamping, with couches and hammocks inside the tents, and the conviviality of a good barbecue all year round, you have the choice to either bring your own food and just rent the BBQ and all the cutlery or simply pop by and enjoy the BBQ menu and its eight courses of lip-smacking goodness!
If you happen to be around in winter time, do not be discouraged by the cold weather! The Base Beach staff will make sure that you are all cuddled up under the famous Japanese kotatsu, a low wooden table frame with a built-in heat source covered by a heavy blanket upon which a table top sits, in one of the big tents. Even though you still have the option to enjoy a BBQ, wintertime in Japan is nabe season (a variety of Japanese hot pot dishes)! For the occasion, Base Beach has a full on Italian inspired 6 course nabe menu on offer. So come huddle up under a warm blanket around some delicious and soul warming food while enjoying the sound of the calm winter sea!
During high-season (June-September) the menu costs 4500 yen per adult (free for small children) which includes food and all the equipment and cutlery necessary. If you are bringing your own food and only want to rent the BBQ as well as all the cutlery, it will cost 2500 yen per adult (free for small children). During low-season (October to May), the prices go down for both options. Booking in advance is necessary, and you can do so either through their booking system, by email, or by phone. For more information, check out their website here! They can also provide an English menu, so don’t be shy to ask!
